Going Far

I drove home from my job for the last time;

today was the last day of the school year. 

And I must admit it would be a lie

to say I left work without any tears.

I know that these children are going far,

and I know that they've meant so much to me.

I can't wait to see who they really are,

what amazing things they will do and be.

I can't believe I'm leaving them behind

the reality hasn't hit me yet.

I just doesn't fit inside of my mind

what it really means that I have now left. 

I know that someday I'll see them again,

I guess I'll just have to come visit them
