It's Raining... Wait No.. yes...no... oh I give up

We were playing outside in the bright sunshine,
but it started to rain, so we had to go in.
The rain stopped as soon as we'd gone inside,
but then wait! It was raining once again!

Along my way home, I stopped at the store.
I left my umbrella as it was dry.
As I was leaving, it started to pour.
A minute later the sky ceased to cry!

As I drove some areas had downpours,
while others were deserts dry as a bone.
The weather was certainly not a bore,
but soon I was just so glad to be home.

I don't know what the weather was thinking,
but I think that it might have been drinking...
