Tonight at school it was open house night
the parents were coming to meet teachers
and while the parking lot was quite a fright
but the school was filled with many creatures
When I got to school I was excited
to meet the parents of all my students
but then soon I began to feel slighted
would this night not be more than a nuisance?
With three periods and two dozen kids,
there should be about four dozen parents.
forty-eight could come, but only two did
It would seem that apathy's apparent!
At least that's two parents I got to know
and their care for their kids really does show
